2019 Monte Rosso Vineyard Gnarly Vine Zinfandel
Vibrant aromas of pomegranate and red currant burst from the glass and are complemented by hints of white pepper and black tea. The focused palate unveils the earthiness of Monte Rosso vineyard with notes of crushed clay, Sichuan pepper with citrus overtones of pine and a toasted, brown spice finish. The Wine Advocate, May 31, 2022
From the winery's flagship vineyard, the 2019 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard includes fruit from vines nearly 130 years old. Aged in a combination of French and American oak, it's a full-bodied (15.9% alcohol on the label) yet vibrant example of Zinfandel, with vaguely peppery spices, mint and blackberry aromas on the nose and some plummy notes and hints of chocolate on the long, mouthwatering finish.
