The 2021 growing season marked a welcome return to ideal conditions, with winter rains that set the stage for the dry weather that followed. Over the summer, conditions stayed uneventful and mild, giving the grapes the luxury of hanging on the vine, yielding small berries with intense flavor concentration. Opening with black currant, dried bay leaf, boysenberry and cinnamon on the nose, notes of red cherries, olive and dark chocolate alight the palate. Full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long, dusty finish, this wine is the ultimate expression of an optimal vintage.
